JOHN 15:1-2

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”

Pruning is not an enjoyable process; it often causes discomfort that we tend to avoid. It has the ability to surface a tension that wells up within us. However, it's important not to shy away from it. The pruning that the Heavenly Father performs is driven by His love for you and His desire to help you grow into the person He has designed you to be.

Allow Him to prune your thoughts—taking captive those negative thoughts that are destroying you.

Allow Him to prune your ability to forgive—choosing to forgive those who have deeply hurt you.

Allow Him to prune your generosity—living a life marked by generosity fosters a faith-filled trust.

Allow Him to prune your service—actively seeking opportunities to extend Jesus' love to others.

Allow Him to prune your encouragement—finding ways to breathe life and hope into those around you.

Allow Him to prune your love—loving first is the means through which others can lean into Jesus.

Ask God to prune your life and commit to not back away when it becomes uncomfortable. As He prunes, you will see your life produce more fruit.
