PSALM 33:20-22

We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you.

Do you enjoy waiting for your food to be delivered? How about waiting for your child to be born? Do you like waiting to listen to Christmas music? Or perhaps waiting for a vacation? What about waiting for your online purchase to arrive? Do you enjoy waiting in line?

Do you like to wait?

Let me guess your answer: NO! Waiting is something that nobody, regardless of personality type, enjoys. This is why I appreciate how the Psalmist expresses this sentiment: "We wait in hope for the Lord." God's timing is rarely the same as ours, and that's okay.

Waiting in hope is what can help you through any season. It fosters anticipation for what God might do in your life and encourages you to lean towards Him, trusting that He will show up in expected and unexpected ways. Waiting in hope will challenge you to trust God at a level you may not think is possible.

If you find yourself in a season of waiting, choose to wait in hope. While God may not arrive according to your schedule, He will never be late.
