part 1

 Where do you start?

First, grasp a new image.

Have you ever found yourself trying to figure out not just how to pray, but how to even start? You listen to people use big words and phrases that leave you scratching your head. On one side you want to show honor to God, yet you hear people talk about the personal nature of God.

GUIDING THOUGHTS:

Remember, prayer is a conversation between you and your Heavenly Father. These guiding thoughts  are provided to help assist you.

  • Start your prayer with, "Hey, Dad" ...

  • Seek understanding and healing from pain connected to your earthly father

  • Release the feeling of being inadequate and unqualified in the area of prayer

  • Share exactly what is on your heart - no matter how raw and unfiltered

  • Create space to actually listen. God speaks through scripture, through whispers, and through other people

  • Pray through Ephesians 3:14-17

  • Out of all the names & titles Jesus could have chosen, he chose Abba

  • Identify what is hindering your relationship with your Eternal Father

WRITING IDEAS:

IDEA 1:

Write a letter to your Eternal Father about your earthly father. This might be easy or extremely difficult. Either way, write it out with the pursuit to help you grasp a new image

IDEA 2:

Pray through Ephesians 3:14-17. Focus on each thought that the Apostle Paul wrote. Do you believe it? What is God saying to you?

IDEA 3:

Capture anything that enters your mind. Don't worry if it doesn't make sense. You never know what God will say to you tomorrow that will reveal what He is saying to you today.
